Second Chance

Ah! Guilt.

A worthy opponent, capable of meddling it's way to the minds of the most sharpest of wits.

Now, hear the veracity of a lad who committed crimes through out his life; finally shows his pure regret,

at the brink of execution.

Poem

Help me,

Though I know, I have committed a crime.

I am aware,

There is no more time.

My existence is interrogated,

My life ends with a question,

But, please think carefully, my friend,

Is fugitivity really my ambition?

Please give me a second chance.

Though I know I have destroyed lives,

Meddled my way amongst the crowd,

Haunting minds.

Please give me a second chance,

To right my wrongs.

Let me have freedom,

Which my heart bitterly longs.

The chains of guilt,

That tie me afar,

To face the world,

My biggest fear.

The tears that run down my cheek,

Don’t express the pain I have gone through,

But the pain I have given others,

Like poison in brew.

There is right and wrong in all of us,

It is who we choose to be,

I have chosen the path of vile before,

Which is not who I am really.

Real Monsters are not those Underneath my Bed

 When I was young,

with no fear of the dead,

people told me,

that there were monsters underneath my bed.

Be it a mere trick,

or just for my fearful leap,

but I honestly cross my heart,

that it haunted my sleep.

I tossed and turned,

sleeping next to my parents all night.

Wondering what I would do?

If I were alone with this fright.

As I grew up,

As I read,

I suddenly realized that,

real monsters were not those underneath my bed.

Real monsters were among me,

hiding in plain sight,

waiting for the best opportunity,

to brutally strike.

Nevertheless, I see light at the end of the tunnel.

Luminescent and bright,

I hope It will be there to guide me,

through out the eerie night.

E-Learning.

The value of something is known only when it is lost,
Today I have learnt it with the rest.
Having to learn from a distance,
I don't know how I will go through this trance.
Previously we had books in our laps,
now we read up topics on our tabs.

Before, topics were said to be understood through a nod,
Now it is through Microsoft Teams and Nearpod.

Before we had to travel hard
To seek knowledge from libraries,
Now everything is available as it free
with just one click of glee.
Having not being able to meet my friends
Is worse than meeting my end
But E Learning is the closest alternative to school tradition,
Visualising concepts in an interactive fashion.

I appreciate the teachers and the schools endeavour,
on not compromising the quality ever,
Come Corona or high water,
We will continue learning as ever!
So stay safe , Stay healthy,
if you dont want to be guilty,
of a crime you would commit unintentionally,
of being a virus carrier unknowingly.

COVID 19

COVID 19, COVID 19, COVID 19,
Where did you come from , you formidable beast!
Was it the markets ? or from a conspiracy lab?
It is not settled yet for the least.

Killing thousands is your play,
More ghastly than can compare.
"To Be or Not to Be"
like Prince Hamlet said in despair.

Your pen name the 'Corona'
because you have the crown.
taking advantage of our body,
our end is not too far.

You are still not defeated, Oh king of war
Your battle cry is heard from not too far
bearing the consequences it is to seem
loss is not acceptable for all it gleams.

Why have we not thwarted , a pathogen like you,
we have eradicated Small pox and are close to finishing the Polio
The world is in our hands, though slightly of tune,
yet , it is like too soon.

The clarion call of the world leaders we must heed,
Social Distancing &  washing hands  with soap.
Hugging & shaking hands we must avoid
as to flatten the curve we must persevere .

Saluting the medical teams for all their efforts,
without their furtherance we would have been in despair.
Sacrificing their life for their patients,
We are more blessed than it seems.

My friends, worry not,
There is a silver lining in this cloud of grey,
Corona with its deadly glare
can only kill if we give up the fight.

We should stay healthy & strong
at all costs,
As what frightens the COVID 19
is a healthy body the most!
